The Mel & Betsy blog was first created because we felt inspired to share different ways that we have incorporated creativity into our home (okay and maybe also because we needed a good excuse to get out of the house and meet for coffee sans kids everyone once in a while). We have been friends for over 8 years, bonding over our many similarities such as over-crafting for birthday parties, an irrevocable love for Target and Gap Kids, being Type A about withholding traditions, each having 3 kids in under 4 years and never turning down a glass of red wine – the last two may be related, I don’t know 😉
But beyond these similarities there are of course differences as well (like Betsy’s ability to karaoke like no other while Mel shouldn’t be let near a mic) that assist in the driving force behind the creation of this blog. Our hope is that by sharing our individual perspectives on topics such as crafting, parenting, organizing and entertaining we will be able to give you, our readers, an armful of ideas to use and manipulate in a way that works best for your home.

Thank you so much for visiting our site and following along! We feel it’s important to note that there are many ways to make a home and to parent. We do not intend to make anyone feel discouraged or like they aren’t doing enough or especially that our way is the right way. What works for us, may not work for you and that’s what makes us individuals. This blog is for those that share a love of living life creatively. We want our readers to leave feeling inspired and enthused to get creative amidst the chaos that is life. Cheers!
